The reality-picture-frames of Katalin Judit Elek have long been the means of getting to know herself. In her own image-story, she has now arrived at being revealed through self-portraits. A thousand faces of the woman now appear in Judit, hiding and emerging inside her person. We can see her – there and then – in surprising compositions but always in relation to something or in certain situations. And it is always just her face that we can see. In this colorful, vibrant, spectacular world, she hides, appears, or is reflected. She is present, yet she remains hidden. In her portrait-journal, her life unfolds through essential and ordinary, surprising and familiar situations – in which we can recognize ourselves as well.
